Maoz Israel with Kobi Ferguson

A Messianic Jewish Israeli organization, Maoz Israel Ministries, based in Israel, exists to make Israel strong in the Lord. Our passion is to reach every Israeli both Jew and Arab with the truth of the Gospel by any means possible and empowering believers in the Land to thrive.

Maoz Israel, now three generations of Israelis living and ministering in Israel, was founded nearly 50 years ago by Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram. Ari and Shira began their pioneer work of helping build the Messianic Jewish community from its infancy. Now, their daughter and son-in-law, Kobi and Shani Ferguson (a native born Israel), the next generation of Israeli believers are leading the way.

5 Major Areas:

  1. Maoz Outreach – Reaching Israelis with the Gospel and helping build a strong community of believers has many practical applications.

Maoz means strength, or fortress in Hebrew. Maoz believes that a strong Body requires mature leadership. Over the past 50 years, Maoz Israel has helped to raise up and then release spiritual leaders all over Israel who now lead their own congregations and ministries.
Today Maoz works with pastors to strengthen individuals and families within a network of over 100 congregations across the country.

Congregations - Among our many efforts, Ari and Shira planted a thriving congregation in Tel Aviv called Tiferet Yeshua and now the next generation of leadership, Kobi and Shani, are currently helping plant a multicultural Israel Jewish congregation Jerusalem. The Jerusalem congregation is now multiplying in other towns in Israel and is considered to be the fastest growing and youngest in Israel.
  1. Maoz Aid –  “I Stand With Israel” the humanitarian arm for victims of terrorism, orphans, widows and needy families - both Jewish and Arab. Knowing that people have both spiritual and practical needs, Maoz has a humanitarian aid branch called "I stand with Israel" (ISWI) which has distributed over ten million dollars in cash to Messianic Jewish and Christian Arab believers in Israel. This aid covers medical emergencies, scholarships for education, career training, grants for small businesses established by believers and help for the poor and needy among the Messianic community and much more - especially among minorities and new immigrants. ISWI has supported Messianic rehab centers in Israel’s large cities, purchased vehicles and equipment for congregations and ministries and has raised funds for legal fees for congregations and businesses which have undergone severe persecution for their faith.
  1. Maoz Publishing – Translating Bibles and books into Hebrew. We have translated and published over 200 books in Hebrew that are biblically rooted and culturally relevant for the purpose of bringing new and long-time believers into a deeper relationship with the God of Israel. These Hebrew books are available to the growing Body of Believers throughout Israel and are unique high quality publications some of which are also sold in the secular market. Maoz Publishing has just finished producing a new Bible in Hebrew in cooperation with the Bible Society in Israel and have also recently completed a ground-breaking children’s Bible now being distributed all over Israel.
  1. Maoz Worship – Maoz Israel Music develops musicians and worship leaders, releasing fresh worship every month. Maoz has pioneered in the area of Israeli worship – in both Hebrew and Arabic. Kobi and Shani also operate a music and video studio that is being used by Israelis and Christian worship leaders in Israel and around the world.

  2. Maoz Inform - Insight about Israel that inspires Christians Worldwide to understand God’s heart and plan for Israel. Offering teachings and insight about Israel. Maoz Inform includes the monthly Maoz Israel Report, Maoz Israel TV program as well as speaking at conferences, churches and other gatherings worldwide. The monthly Maoz Report, begun in 1976, written by Shira, and now headed up by daughter Shani, is published in eight languages. It features articles describing current events and their spiritual significance, and the historical background that have made Israel what it is today.
